Notes

The Royal Oman emblem, also known as “Khanjar Crest”

This watch is one of the few Rolex “Cosmograph” supplied to the Sultanate of Oman.

On some Rolex, the Omani national “Khanjar” emblem is printed on the dial in place of the words like “Superlative Chronometer Officially Certified” or “Daytona”. Here the logo is red colour, however it can also be printed in black, green or yellow.

Today, probably because it is more immediately visible, or even much rarer, the red “Khanjar” emblem is the most prized and sought-after by the keenest collectors and discerning connoisseurs.

Rolex, “Daytona”

In 1963, the first “Cosmograph” introduced into Rolex’s collection was launched. In 1964, Rolex joined the French races “Le Mans” and also with the famous American car circuit “Daytona”. The “Cosmograph” was first marketed under the name “Le Mans”, but Rolex very quickly opted for the name “Daytona”. This is the beginning of a legendary adventure...!
