Notes

A nice Rolex Submariner, reference 6536-1, “Small Crown”, featuring a tropical gilt dial and original radium luminous material. Introduced in the mid-1950s, reference 6536-1 represents one of the earliest evolutions of the Submariner small crown series and remains among the most sought-after early diving models.

Produced for only a short period, it houses the calibre 1030 and features a glossy gilt dial whose delicate lacquer surface ages naturally over time, occasionally developing the exceptionally rare and highly coveted tropical patina. The present example displays a deep, even brown tone that enhances both its historical significance and aesthetic charm.

The luminous hour markers and hands retain their original radium compound, fully consistent with period production.
