Notes

This Rolex dive watch Ref. 6538, so called “Big Crown” or “James Bond”, was from 1954-1959. This reference is one of the most iconic diver watch of Rolex and it was nicknamed after its appearance on the wrist of the late Hollywood star Sean Connery in the first James Bond movie. Consider that in 1950s small watch still remained majority in the market, while a bulky watch like 6538 was mostly for professional divers, it becomes even more difficult to find a piece with original dial . This current example overall has been kept in good condition with original tropical gilt dial, golden text and chapter ring ,slightly patinated on the luminous, which makes it a definitely collectible piece.
