1945 saw the birth of the Datejust, the first self-winding chronometer wristwatch to display the date in an aperture on the dial. The reference 6605 was produced for three years, from 1956 to 1959. It is thus manufactured in the first part of the production history of this model. This model created in 1957 has a very particular characteristic: the so-called alpha shape of its hands and indexes. Rarely seen on yellow gold versions, the black dial contrasts with the case and the president's bracelet.
