Notes

Following the tremendous success of the last oversize 8029 (May 2021, lot 148 sold for CHF 52’500), we are delighted to offer at auction an ever rarer version of this oversize (37mm) Precision Rolex. While most versions are fitted with a subsidiary second only, this version is an extremely rare variation featuring not only a subsidiary second but also a center-seconds. It is interesting to note that due to this extra complication the Precision wording was moved to 12 o clock to allow the subsidiary second complication as the way is always found with a central second. To the bestow our knowledge it is the only known version to have surfaced at auction. Kept in excellent condition it still features the Rolex crown as well as the serial numbers on the outside caseback. Comparable to the Omega Syncrobeat (without the dead-beat function) reference 2545 (See Omega a Journey through time page 193), these were often manufactured as test watches to test the precision of their movements.
