Rolex reference 8171 was produced in very few examples between 1949 to 1952. Throughout their entire run, Rolex only produced two models of watches displaying moon phases: reference 8171, featuring a snap-on case back, and reference 6062 with a screw-down Oyster case. This watch was very avant-garde for its time because of its diameter (38 mm), making it a very modern piece today.
Kept in very good condition, the watch still displays its clear serial and Rolex crown on the caseback, a testament to its overall quality of conservation.
