`CHENIL DE CHIEN` Swiss. Made circa 1810. Fine, small, bronze and gilt-bronze 30-hour going mantel clock.
Clock housing in the form of a kennel with engraved brickwork and side door, above the dial a small open shutter from which a dog's head looks out, to the side the figure of a young boy carrying provisions, flowerhead bezel, rectangular bronze base with applied gilt mount of a dog flanked by oak leaves, bell-shaped gilt feet. White enamel with Arabic numerals, outer minute divisions. Blued steel Breguet hands. Gilt-brass, full-plate, fusee and chain, verge escapement, three-arm brass balance, flat balance spring, pierced and engraved continental cock with steel endplate, silvered regulation dial.
