GOLD QUARTER REPEATING WATCH Swiss, case No. 6398. Made circa 1820. Fine, small, quarter-repeating pocket watch with gold and enamel dial.
Three-body, Empire, engine-turned with reeded band, repeat locking bolt at 11. Hinged gilt-metal cuvette. Gold with Arabic numerals on white enamel reserves, outer white enamel minute track, the center decorated with an engraved and polychrome enamel flower basket and palmette. Blued steel Breguet hands. 35 mm., matte gilt full plate, fusee and chain, verge escapement, three-arm brass balance with flat balance spring, pierced and engraved continental cock with polished steel endplate, silvered regulation dial, repeating on gongs activated by depressing the pendant.
