Notes

Centre Horloger Suisse pour Invalides

The Swiss Horological Centre for Invalids (“Centre Horloger Suisse pour Invalides”) was founded in Bienne / Biel in 1965, with the aim of providing training in watchmaking to disabled people who would then receive a CFC (Certificat Fédéral de Capacité – Federal Certificate of Competence), as in Swiss horological schools. The opening of a production workshop made it possible to provide work for disabled people who had not been able to integrate into the watchmaking industry. In 1976, following the watchmaking crisis, this centre experienced financial difficulties which led to its closure.
