Ayrton Selma (1960-1994) was the youngest pilot to win three tines the title of Formula 1 World Champion. In 1988, racing for the TAG McLaren team, he established the world record with eight pole positions, won eight "Grand Prix" and became World Champion, and again in 1990. In 1989, he was in second position among the Formula 1 pilots. In 1991, he totalized eight pole positions and seven victories. That same season, he achieved another dream of his by winning the Brazil "Grand Prix" in Interlagos - Sao Paulo. In 1992, he was fourth in the World Championship classification and left the TAG McLaren team. In 1993, without any contract, Ayrton Senna won for the sixth time the " Grand Prix" of Monaco ". In 1994, he signed a new contract with Williams. but later in the year, he died in a terrible accident during the "Grand Prix " of San Marino. Ayrton Serena will always be remembered as one of the greatest Fl pilots of all time. The commnemorafive limited edition by Tag Heuer: 6000 Selma. In 1990, Ayrton Senna launched the Senna watch brand with the concept " Driven to perfection ". His ambition was to create a range of high quality products which would embody his personal values. A watch made by TAG Heuer was a key element of this range. The measurement of time for TAG Heuer, and the battle against it for Ayrton Senna, brought them together as natural partners in this venture. The partnership should have been celebrated with a jointly developed watch, the "6000 Senna", the ultimate sports-watch. However, the tragic accident at Imola prevented this launch from taking place in October 1994, and it was only after a thorough period of reflection, that TAG Heuer and the Senna Foundation decided to launch the watch in its original concept to pay tribute to one of the greatest sportsmen the world has ever seen. For every watch sold, SFr. 500 is donated to the Senna Foundation, owner of the Senna brand. The Foundation supports various charity projects around the world, as Ayrton Senna did during his career, in particular projects in aid of underprivileged children. This special edition comes in three sizes, man, boy and lady, 1000 watches produced in each size and numbered from 1 to 1000.
