Notes

The Monaco, launched by Heuer in 1969, is a breakthrough in the watchmaking history. It featured the famous calibre 11, the first self-winding movement for chronograph. Even the design, with a square case, was unusual for that time. However, it seduced lot of celebrities in the motor racing world such as Joe Siffert and Steve Mc Queen. In 2004, once again Tag Heuer overturned the established rules by creating the Monaco V4. The watchmakers replaced the pinions and wheels of the traditional mechanical movement with a belt-driven transmission. This is a small revolution for watchmaking! The model won « Best Design » at the Grand Prix d'Horlogerie de Genève.
