COL. E. LESTER JONES'S TIFFANY & CO. SPLIT-SECOND CHRONOGRAPH MINUTE- REPEATER YELLOW GOLD Tiffany & Co., New York, No. 17398. Made circa 1900. Very fine and extremely rare, large, 18K yellow gold, keyless, minute-repeating pocket watch with split-seconds chronograph. Accompanied by a box and 10 pages of Col. Jones's biography.

Four-body, "bassine", polished, back monogramed ELJ, co-axial button in the crown for the start/stop and return- to-zero chronograph function, curved rectangular pusher on the band for the split-seconds function, locking bolt at 11 o`clock. Hinged gold cuvette. White enamel with painted radial Arabic numerals, outer 1/5th seconds track with red Arabic five minute/seconds markers, sunk subsidiary seconds dial. Blued steel spade hands. 19```, three-quarter plate, nickel plated, fausses côtes decoration, 29 jewels, straight-line calibrated lever escapement, cut-bimetallic compensation balance with gold adjustment screws, blued steel Breguet balance spring, repeating on gongs activated by a slide in the band.
