PATEK PHILIPPE SPLIT SECOND CHRONOGRAPH 5 MINUTE-REPEATER FOR TIFFANY YELLOW GOLD Patek Philippe & Co., Genève, for Tiffany & Co., New York, No. 97034. Made in 1893. Very fine and extremely rare, 18K yellow gold, keyless, 5-minute-repeating pocket watch with split-seconds chronograph. Accompanied by a copy of the Patek Philippe registers confirming its sale to Tiffany in 1893 for CHF 1246.49.
Four-body, "bassine", polished, back with inlaid blue/ red and white enamel with family crest and initials, co-axial button in the crown for the start/stop and return- to-zero chronograph function, curved rectangular pusher on the band for the split-seconds function, locking bolt at 11 o`clock. Hinged gold cuvette. White enamel with painted radial Arabic numerals, outer minute divisions, outermost chronograph track divided into fifths, brown Arabic five minute/seconds numerals. Blued steel spade hands. 16```, nickel plated, fausses côtes decoration, 26 jewels, straight line calibrated lever escapement, cut-bimetallic compensation balance with gold adjustment screws, blued steel Breguet balance spring, repeating on gongs activated by a slide in the band.
