Production of this reference model started around 1958. While the 7928 Submariner was usually produced with a pointed or rounded crown guard (just like Rolex Ref. 5512), it was also made with a square crown guard configuration. These models were produced in a very small batch the year 1959 only and all seem to start with serial numbers 305xxx
