Ulysse Nardin, Lode, Suisse, No. 4728, February 1943. Sold to the Kaiserl Japanischen Marine in Berlin on 21st Decembre 1943. Fine two day Marine chronometer in fitted mahogany travelling box, awarded a Bulletin of First Class for the timing contest organised at the Astronomical Observatory of Neuchatel in 1943.
C.Three body mahogany box with external brass handles, glazed upper section with hinged lid. Brass bowl and gimballed suspension. D. Silvered with Roman numerals, subsidiary seconds and 48 hour Up-and-Down scale. Blued steel "spade" hands. M. Gilt brass with turned pillars, fusee with chain, maintaining power, spring detent escapement, free sprung "integral" compensation Guillaume balance, palladium helical balance spring with terminal curves, diamond end-stone. Signed on the dial and movement. In very good condition, with copy of the Observatory records. Dial diam. 105 mm.
