"Detent Chronometer" Ulysse Nardin, Locle, No. 7253. Made circa 1880. Very fine and rare, 18K yellow gold pocket chronometer with Earnshaw type spring detent escapement.
C. Four-body, "bassine et filets", polished and engine-turned. Hinged gold cuvette. D. White enamel with radial Roman numerals, outer minute track, subsidiary seconds. Blued steel "spade" hands. M. 19''', rhodium-plated, "fausses-cotes" decoration, half-plate, jeweled to the center, Earnshaw type springfooted detent escapement with jeweled locking stone, gold escape wheel with gold mounted endstone, cut bimetallic compensation balance, blued steel Breguet balance spring, index regulator. Dial, case and movement signed. Diam. 55 mm.
