C. Four-body, ?grande gouge?, engine-turned back, gold hinged cuvette. D. White enamel, radial Roman numerals, outer minute ring, subsidiary sunk seconds. Blued steel ?spade? hands. M. 43 mm ø (19 1/4???), rhodium-plated half plate, ?fausses-côtes? decoration in a rare angular pattern, 16 jewels, spring detent Earnshaw-type chronometer escapement, bimetallic compensation balance with blued steel balance spring with outer terminal curve, index regulator. Signed on dial, case and movement. Diam. 55 mm.

It is very rare to find a Ulysse Nardin pocket watch with spring detent escapement. Most of their pocket chronometers utilize a pivoted detent escapement.
