Made in a limited edition of 25 examples in 1992, sold on March 4th, 1994. Very fine, center-seconds, self-winding, water-resistant, 18K yellow gold and cloisonné enamel chronometer wristwatch with an 18K yellow gold Ulysse Nardin buckle. Accompanied by a fitted box, a ?Contrôle Officiel Suisse des Chronomètres? certificate and a certificate of warranty.

Satiné gold with applied yellow gold baton indexes and Roman quarter-hour numerals, the center with a polychrome cloisonné enamel scene of the "Gorch Fock". Yellow gold feuille hands. M. Cal. UN-13, gilt, fausses cotes and oeil-de-perdrix decoration, 21 jewels, straight-line lever escapement, monometallic balance, shock absorber, self-compensating fl at balance spring, micrometer regulator. Dial, case and movement signed. Diam. 37 mm. Thickness 8.5 mm.

Notes

The Gorch Fock I is a German three-mast barque. Originally built as a school ship for the German Reichsmarine in 1933, she was taken as war reparation by the USSR after World War II. After the dissolution of the Soviet Union, the ship sailed under the Ukranian fl ag from 1992 to 1993. In 1995, she was transferred to Newcastle-upon-Tyne for repairs, which however were never even begun. In 1999, she was moved to Wilhelmshaven and fi nally acquired by private sponsors and transferred to her original home port Stralsund, Germany, where she was re-baptized Gorch Fock on November 29, 2003. Today she is a museum ship, and though efforts are being made to reactivate her, it is doubtful whether she will sail ever again.
