Notes

This type of marine chronometer is called by the Ulysse Nardin Manufacture “Chronomètre de marine grand format, 2 jours, calibre M. Gr. F. type Amirauté”. It was developed by Paul-David Nardin (1856-1920) around 1900 and was used for almost half a century.
--

At the timing contest organised in 1945 at the Astronomical Observatory of Neuchâtel, this chronometer was awarded a First Class Bulletin.

That year (1945), the manufacture produced 432 marine chronometers. This was one of the years in which it produced the most.
Between 1876 and 1976, the manufacture produced 10 200 of them, of which 9 440 large format, 80 large format with an 8-day going movement and 680 small format.
