Silver (0.900), open-face, keyless-winding, round-shaped, pocket watch, with subsidiary seconds at 6 and three horological complications:
· 1/5 second chronograph (activated by the single round push-piece located on the winding-crown)
· Split-seconds (activated by the olive-shaped push-piece located on the case-band at 11 o’clock)
· Instantaneous 30-minute counter (subsidiary dial at 12 o’clock)

Case-back polished.

White enamel dial with suspended Arabic numerals; yellow gold “Louis XV” hands.

Movement 19’’’, gilded brass, going barrel, straight-line equilibrated lever escapement, cut bimetallic compensated balance with gold poising screws and blued steel hairspring with terminal curve, polished steel index regulator; chronograph work and split-seconds work on the top plate.

Movement based on the Swiss invention patent No. 359, delivered on January 12, 1889, to A. Lugrin, L’Orient-de-l’Orbe (Vallée de Joux), for a “Perfectionnements apportés à la construction des chronographes-compteurs” (Improvements in the construction of chronograph-counters).

The company A. Lugrin & Cie was founded in 1884 by Alfred Lugrin (1858-1920), a young watchmaker who worked for LeCoultre & Cie (1879-1884). This company will become Lemania.

This patent is used in particular by the horological factory of Jules-Frédéric Jeanneret of Saint-Imier (Bernese Jura), founded in 1866 and continued after his death (1890) by his widow, then his sons, under the name Albert Jeanneret & Frères. This company became the Excelsior Park company. Watches with or without split-seconds are known to have been made with this patent and sold by S. Smith & Sons, London.
