THE BINNACLE - NAUTICAL REVOLVING WEATHER STATION CLOCK French. Made circa 1890. Very fine and rare, gilt and patinated brass, double-dialled, cloisonné enamel and onyx, nautical-style "weather-station" table clock with thermometer, barometer, compass and revolving case driven by a mechanism in the base.

Circular onyx base, flared section above decorated with rope, an anchor and chain and a lifebelt, rotating upper section powered from the base, cloisonné decorated band, four out-set cloisonné enamel pillars and canopy above with domed cupola and finial, the four sides set with the two meantime dials, the barometer and thermometer, the top set with a compass. Each with silvered chapter ring with radial Roman numerals, outer minute track, cloisonne enamel center. Blued steel trefoil hands. The revolving movement winding from the base, the upper section of the case rotating with the action of the movement and geared to both dials.
