INVICTA - QUARTER REPEATING & CHRONOGRAPH Invicta, Swiss, "Répétition", case No. 89985. Made circa 1900. Fine, large, hunting-cased, keyless, quarter-repeating, silver pocket watch with chronograph.
Four-body, "bassine", engine-turned with polished borders, the front with vacant cartouche. Hinged silver cuvette engraved with award medals, glazed silver-rimmed cover to view the movement. White enamel with radial Roman numerals, outer minute and outermost chronograph divisions, sunk subsidiary seconds dial. Gilt "Louis XV" hands. Cal. 21''', frosted gilt, 17 jewels, straight line lever escapement, monometallic balance, self-compensating Breguet balance spring, repeating on gongs by push button on the band, centrifugal governor. Cuvette signed.
