MAAR PATENT AUTOMOBILE STEERING WHEEL CLOCK Maar Automatic Car Watch Company, Zurich, "Automatic Car-Watch", No. 10952. Made circa 1952. Fine and very unusual, chromed self-winding spoked clock for steering wheel mounting. Accompanied by the original Maar card box, guarantee, cotton bag, fitting tools and extra fittings and original instructions (in German).

Four-body, cylindrical with reeded bezel, domed back with two glazed ports to view the movement, four spokes with bracket and lower bracket for steering wheel mounting, hand-setting engaged by a slide on the edge of the case and rotating the bezel. Matte silver with painted baton indexes and Arabic quarter- hour numerals, subsidiary seconds. Luminous blued steel baton hands. Mechanical powered by a bidirectional weight.

The Maar Automatic Car-Watch Company of Zurich made several different models of clocks for automobiles and are best known for the clocks they made for Oldsmobile U.S.A. The present model would appear to have been in production between 1951 and 1952 and this example has survived with the original box and instructions. To be sold without reserve
