GOLD SKELETONIZED AUTOMATON WATCH WITH THREE HAMMER CARILLLON REPEATING & THREE ACTIONS Swiss, case No. 10407. Made circa 1820. Very fine and very rare, 18K gold carillon quarter-repeating with three hammers on three gongs pocket watch with three varicolored gold automaton jacks.

Three body, Empire, polished bezel, reeded band, engine-turned back with vacant oval cartouche, bolt at 11 to lock the repeating. Hinged and sprung gilt cuvette fitted to the movement ring. Annular white enamel chapter-ring with Arabic numerals, skeletonized center with vari-colored gold cherub "jacks" in classical costume with a cherub "jack" seated below amongst foliage appearing to strike bells when the repeating is activated. Blued steel Breguet hands. GiIt brass full plate, fusee with chain, verge escapement, plain 3-arm gilt balance, engraved continental cock, polished under dial repeating work striking with three hammers on three blued steel gongs activated by depressing the pendant.
