BELLE EPOQUE LADY'S LAPEL WATCH THE DANCING MUSE Swiss. Made circa 1900. Very fine and rare, 18K gold, painted on enamel, rose cut diamond and pearl-set lady's lapel watch with an integral 18K gold, platinum, rose-cut diamond and pearl-set brooch fitting. Accompanied by a period Tiffany & Co., Paris, gold-tooled and embossed morocco box.

Hexagonal, three-body, pearl-set band, the larger pearl at 6 for winding and hand-setting, the bezel decorated with translucent green enamel painted with laurel leaves, the back overlaid with translucent green enamel painted en-grisaille with a classical dancing maiden, possibly Terpsichore, the muse of dance, white line border and outer border decorated to match the bezel, rose- cut diamond in platinum terminal, yellow gold brooch fitting with platinum mounts set with rose-cut diamonds and pearls. Matte and engine-turned silver with radial Roman numerals.
