MUSICAL AND QUARTER-REPEATING POCKET WATCH YELLOW GOLD Swiss, Signed Le Roy, Paris, Invenit et Fecit, No. 1802, the movement attributed to Piguet et Meylan, case No. 105. Made circa 1820. Fine and rare, 18K gold, quarter-repeating, musical pocket watch with music playing on the hour or at will.
Four-body, "Empire", engine-turned with polished borders, reeded band, bolt at 1 o`clock to lock the repeat. Hinged gilt brass cuvette with apertures for winding. Silver, radial champlevé Roman numerals on a brushed chapter ring, outer minute track, engine-turned center. Blued steel Breguet hands. 51 mm.(22```), gilt brass two-train, with standing barrel for the going train, cylinder escapement, plain three-arm balance, flat balance spring, polished steel endplate, index regulator, repeating on gongs activated by depressing the pendant. Sur plateau musical movement, 21 tuned, blued steel vibrating blades acting on both sides of the pinned disc, music/silence lever at the edge of the cuvette beneath the back cover. Cuvette signed.
