ENAMEL SCENE OF A LION FAMILY RESTING IN THE FEILD Swiss made, case No. 2194. Made for the Chinese market, circa 1860. Very fine, and very rare, gilt painted on enamel and pearl-set center-seconds pocket watch with Chinese duplex escapement.

Three-body, Empire, reeded band, the back painted on enamel with a lion family, pearl-set bezels, pendant and bow. Glazed gilt-rimmed cover over the movement. White enamel, narrow radial Roman numerals, center seconds, outer minute divisions. Blued steel Chinese hands. 47.7 mm. entirely engraved gilt Chinese caliber, 10 jewels, free-standing barrel, Chinese duplex escapement, three-arm balance with blued steel winged weights, blued steel flat balance spring, index regulator. Case numbered.
