CONCEALED EROTIC AUTOMATON & QUARTER REPEATING WATCH Swiss, case No. 19026. Made circa 1820. Fine and rare, 18K gold quarter-repeating pocket watch with concealed erotic automaton on the dial.

Four-body, Empire, polished, reeded band, bolt at 11 to lock the repeating and at 2 to reveal the erotic scene. Hinged gilt cuvette. Engine-turned gold, radial champlevé Roman numerals, outer minute divisions, aperture below 12 with shutters opening to reveal a couple on a couch, animated by the repeating mechanism. Blued steel Breguet hands. 41 mm., frosted gilt full-plate with cylindrical pillars, fusee and chain, verge escapement brass balance with flat balance spring, continental cock, repeating on gongs activated by depressing the pendant. Case numbered.
