CARRIAGE CLOCK PORT VIEW PANELS French. Made circa 1890. Fine and rare, gilt brass and painted on porcelain 8-day going, hour and half-hour striking carriage clock with repeating. Accompanied by an original fitted travel case.

Multi-piece, "Corniche", gilt-brass entirely engraved, the top with oval glazed aperture to view the escapement, the sides and back door set with porcelain panels decorated with port views and fishing boats within gilt floral engraved borders, hinged handle. Porcelain circular annular with radial Roman numerals, outer minute track, dial mask decorated with flowers and foliage on a pale green ground. Blued steel spade hands. Rectangular brass plates, going barrels for both trains, lateral lever escapement on a silvered platform, notched bimetallic compensation balance, flat balance spring, index regulator, striking and repeating on a gong.
