THE LOVER'S SERENADE ENAMEL HEART-SHAPED WATCH CASE GILT Swiss. With British import stamps for 1819-1820. Fine and elegant, large and rare heart-shaped, gilt brass and painted on enamel heart-shaped case revealing a hinge mounted silver openface pocket watch.

Two-body, "heart", blue guilloche enamel representing a multi-color bouquet, the back cover decorated with a painted on enamel scene of a lover's serenade in a parc, opening to reveal a hinge mounted pocket watch holder with stand to hold in the upright position. White enamel, Arabic numerals, outer minute track. Blued steel spade hands. Gilt, three-quarter plate, elongated straight-line lever escapement, cut bimetallic compensation balance, blued steel Breguet balance spring, index regulator.
