THE WATCHMAKER SILVER Swiss, No. 2875. Made for the Chinese market, circa 1870. Fine, silver gilt and, center-seconds pocket watch with mirror-polished movement and Jacot duplex escapement.
Three-body, "Empire", the back with engraved scene of a watchmaker. glazed cuvette hinged to the movement ring. White enamel with narrow radial Roman numerals and outer minute and seconds divisions, outer Arabic fifteen- minute/seconds numerals. Blued steel spade hands. Mirror-polished steel, Chinese caliber with free-standing barrel, Jacot duplex escapement, bimetallic compensation balance with blued steel "wings", blued steel flat balance-spring, index regulator. Movement signed.
