Blue-night, sky-blue and gold painting on enamel on copper, by an unidentified workshop, Geneva, showing an allegory of Time, inside a circle of hours, surrounded by the twelve signs of the Zodiac.

Gautier, Raoul Geneva, April 15, 1854 ?? Geneva, April 19, 1931 Swiss astronomer, professor at the University of Geneva and sixth director of the Observatory, from 1889 to 1931. He is the son of Emile Gautier (1822-1891), previous director (1882-1891).
