Notes

Typical nocturnal clock from the mid-18th century, made in Bern / Berne, attributable to the workshops of the Funk (or Fonk) or Blaser families. At night, a candle burning behind the main ring allows the reading of the hours through the open-worked chapters. Usually this kind of Bernese clock comes with a base with four folding legs, allowing the clock to be easily transported when travelling.
