Swiss or French, circa 1870. Very fine and large steel and brass face plate engine. Centering plate with three dog clamps, centering post, brass bed, driven by two wheel transmission with a crank lever, two-directional slide rest controlled by a knurled nut and crank lever with depth and lateral indication via gauge and finger, angular cutter adjustment.

This Burin Fixe was property of Charles Emile Juvet, who was the grand-father of Patrick Juvet, a swiss singer/songwriter who represented Switzerland in the 1973 Eurovision song contest and in 1977, in collaboration with Jean Michel Jarre, sang his most famous song “Ou sont les femmes”.
