Vacheron & C o n s t a n t i n , Genève, No. 413832, case by Verger, No.12543, made for Van Cleef & Arpels, Paris, circa 1934. Very fine, 18 ct. gold and enamel, Art-Deco, aventurine set "portefeuilles" keyless purse watch.
C. Three body, rectangular, folding, polished with black champleve enamelled Art-Deco geometrical decoration; set with three aventurine cabochons. D. Square, mat silver, with applied cubical Arabic gold numerals. Gold "cathedrales" hands. M. 9-, rhodium plated, 15 jewels, straight line lever escapement, cut bimetallic balance, five adjustments, Breguet balance spring. Signed on the dial and movement. Patented case bearing the Verger's master mark. In very good condition. Dim. 37 x 30 mm. The case is designed in order to be set open on a flat surface, such as a table clock.
