Vacheron & Constantin, Genève, No 306291, case No 184218, made for Musy Padre e Figli, Torino, circa 1885. Very fine 18 ct. gold and enamel, diamond set hunting cased keyless watch made for Umberto Primo King of Italia as a presentation piece.

Four body massive "demi-bassine" polished case, the back with the champlevé enamel painted diamond inlaid coat of arms of the king. Gold cuvette. White enamel dial with Roman numerals, outer red Arabic minute ring and subsidiary seconds. Blued steel "spade" hands. GiIt brass 18"' movement, 15 jewels, straight line lever escapement, cut bimetallic balance, Breguet balance spring. Signed on the dial and the case. In very good condition. Diam. 50 mm. Humberto 1 st, King of Italy from 1878 to 1900. He was born in Torino on March 14, 1844, the second son of Victorio Emanuele II. In 1868 he married his cousin Margherita and was murdered in Monza on July 29, 1900.
