Vacheron & Constantin, Geneve, No. 412698, case no. 15312, for Gubelin, Lucerne, in 1920. Very fine and rare platinum diamond set "bras en fair" keyless dress watch.

Three piece massive "bassine pincde" polished case. Mat silver dial with two Arabic sectors for hours and minutes, a stylized platinum diamond set caravelle. Gold "batons" hands pointing the time on the sectors by means of the depressing push piece on the band. Fine rhodium plated 17"15/12 movement , 18 jewels, straight line lever escapement, cut bimetallic balance adjusted to temperatures and five positions, Breguet ba-lance spring. Signed "Gubelin" on the dial, Vacheron & Constantin on the movement. In very good condition. Diam. 46 mm.

Notes

Such as the others "bras en fair" watches produced in the 30's by Van Cleef & Arpels, with a sitting Buddha on the dial, this watch is almost certainly inspired from the "bras en fair" watches made towards the end of the XVlllth century.
