Corps of Engineers USA Vacheron & Constantin, Genève, No. 380885, case No. 234632. Made for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers in 1918. Fine and interesting, keyless, silver pocket watch with chronograph.
C. Four-body, "demi-bassine", polished. Hinged silver cuvette. D. White enamel with bold Arabic numerals, outer minute and 1/5th seconds chronograph scales, Arabic five-second numerals, subsidiary seconds dial. Black spade and lozenge hands. M. Cal. R.A, 19''' 73 Chrono, rhodium-plated, partial oeil-de-perdrix decoration, 20 jewels, straight-line lever escapement, cut bimetallic compensation balance, blued steel Breguet balance spring, swan-neck micrometer regulator, co-axial chronograph button on the winding crown. Dial, case, cuvette and movement signed. Diam. 52 mm.
