Gilt brass, glazed on 4 sides and on the top, polished and brushed, stepped plinth base with canted corners, spirit level in the base, mounted on a black painted and wood base, to the side a block mounted with a demonstration thermometer and illuminated arrows illustrating the rise and fall in temperature, the front of the base with an explanatory plaque, on/off switch at the back. D. Matte silvered, annular, applied gilt brass Arabic numerals and faceted dart indexes. Gilt brass dauphine hands. M. Gilt brass, the vacuum chamber shown in cross-section displaying the interior components. Case and movement signed. Dim. 34 x 36.5 x 29 cm.
