Vacheron & Constantin, Corps of Engineers U.S.A. Vacheron & Constantin, Genève, movement No. 385211, case No. 240641. Made for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, issue No. 2566 to J.B. Barnes. Made circa 1918. Fine and interesting, keyless, silver military pocket watch with chronograph.
C. Four-body, demi-bassine, solid, polished, the back with Corps of Engineers inscription. Hinged silver cuvette. D. White enamel with bold Arabic numerals, outer minute track and fifths of a second chronograph divisions, subsidiary seconds dial. Luminous steel skeleton hands. M. Cal. 18''', matte gilt, 20 jewels, straight-line lever escapement, cut bimetallic compensation balance, blued steel Breguet balance spring, swan-neck micrometer regulator, visible chronograph work, co-axial chronograph button on the winding crown. Dial, case, cuvette and movement signed. Diam. 52 mm.
