VACHERON & CONSTANTIN MINUTE REPEATING & CHRONOGRAPH DRESS WATCH Vacheron & Constantin, Genève, No. 396648, case No. 269485. Made circa 1940. Very fine and rare, 18K yellow gold, keyless, slim, minuterepeating dress watch with chronograph, progressive 30-minute register and two-tone dial.

C. Three-body, "variée", polished and brushed with inclined bezel and rounded band, co-axial button in the crown for the start/stop and return-tozero functions of the chronograph. D. Two-tone gold with applied yellow gold baton indexes and Roman quarter-hour numerals, outer minute and seconds track and fi fth of a second timing scale with Arabic fi ve-second numerals, subsidiary dials for the seconds and 30-minute register. Gold epee hands. M. Cal. 18???, rhodium-plated, fausses cotes decoration, 36 jewels, straight-line lever escapement, cut bimetallic compensation balance, blued steel Breguet balance spring, index regulator, repeating on gongs activated by a slide on the band, chronograph with visible work. Dial, case and movement signed. Diam. 47 mm.
