VACHERON & CONSTANTIN QUARTER REPEATING POCKET WATCH Vacheron & Constantin, Genève, movement No. 324135, case No. 201263, retailed by F.L. Löbner, Berlin. Made circa 1900. Very fine and rare, heavy 18K gold, keyless, quarter-repeating, hunting-cased pocket watch.

Four-body, "bassine et filets", the covers engine-turned with a sunray pattern, the front with small oval cartouche with engraved initials "KA", polished borders, coin-edge band. Hinged gold cuvette engraved "1880, 9, Februar 1905, Karl Abenhausen". Matte gilt with black champlevé Arabic numerals, outer minute track, subsidiary seconds dial, engine-turned center. Blued steel Breguet hands. 43 mm.(19'''), frosted gilt, 29 jewels, wolf's tooth winding, straight line lever escapement, cut-bimetallic compensation balance with temperature and meantime adjustment screws, blued steel Breguet balance spring, index regulator, repeating on gongs activated by a slide on the band.
