VACHERON & CONSTANTIN MINUTE REPEATING WATCH ENAMEL VIRGIN & CHILD Vacheron & Constantin, Genève, No. 190591, retailed by Joh. Hartmann, Berlin. Made circa 1900. Very fine and rare, minute-repeating, 18K yellow gold and painted on enamel, keyless pocket watch with 24-hour dial.

Four-body, "forme collier", polished, rounded band, the back cover decorated with a finely painted on enamel of the Virgin and Child with a bunch of grapes, champlevé white line and royal blue enamel border with chased gold foliage. Hinged gold cuvette. Matte champagne with champlevé black Arabic numerals, outer minute track, outermost blue 24-hour numerals, subsidiary seconds. Blued steel Breguet hands. Cal. 18```, matte gilt, 27 jewels, counterpoised and calibrated straight-line lever escapement, cut bimetallic compensation balance, blued steel Breguet balance spring, swan-neck micrometer regulator, repeating on gongs activated by a slide on the band.
