Vacheron & Constantin, Genève, No. 388008case No. 258291, completed in 1921, sold in February 1931.Very fine and rare 18K gold hunting cased keyless pocket chronometer, with days of the week. Bulletin de Première Classe de l'Observatoire Astronomique de Genève, awarded a Mention honorable with 680 marks at the timing contest in 1926.

C. Four body, massive, "demi-bassine", polished. Gold cuvette engraved: Certificat de 1ère Classe à l'Observatoire Astronomique de Genève. D. White enamel with Breguet numerals sunk subsidiary seconds and days of the week. Gold "spade" hands. M. 19''', gilt brass,21 jewels, straight line lever escapement, Crausaz, brass-invar Guillaume balance adjusted by E. Olivier, blued steel balance spring with terminal curve and special micrometric index.Signed on the dial, case and movement.Accompanied by photocopies of the timing contest records.Diam. 53 mm.
