?Claw Lugs? Vacheron & Constantin, Genève, No. 457830, case No. 307808, Ref. 4461. Made in 1949. Very fine and rare, astronomic, 18K yellow gold gentleman's wristwatch with full calendar and moon phases, with a yellow gold Vacheron Constantin buckle. Accompanied by a Certificate of Authenticity.

Silvered, brushed, with applied yellow gold Roman numerals and dartand pyramidal indexes, subsidiary seconds dial, outer graduation for the days of the month, apertures for thedays of the week, the months and the moon phases. Yellow gold "bâton" hands. M. Cal. 12 1/2 485, rhodiumplated, "fausses côtes" decoration, 17 jewels, straight line lever escapement, beryllium balance with timingscrews, adjusted to temperatures, self-compensating Breguet balance-spring, index regulator.Dial, case and movement signed.Diam. 35 mm. These are excellent examples of watches with the so-called ?claw lugs? that were fashionable for almost two decades, from the beginning of the 1940s to the end of the 1950s. These lugs, which were featured on watches with various types of complications, were extremely surprising and effective.
