?Claw Lugs? Vacheron & Constantin, Genève, No. 463487, case No. 318625, Ref. 4461. Made in 1953. Very fine and rare, astronomic, 18K yellow gold gentleman's wristwatch with full calendar and moon phases.

Two-tone mattesilver with applied yellow gold indexes and Arabic numerals, auxiliary "guilloché"seconds dial, painted blue outer graduation for the days of the month, apertures for themoon phases, the days of the week and the months in painted red writing. Yellow gold"bâton" hands. M. 12 1/2??? V 495, rhodium plated, "fausses côtes" decoration, 17jewels, straight line lever escapement, beryllium balance adjusted totemperatures, shock-absorber, self-compensating Breguet balance-spring,swan neck micrometer adjustment to the regulator.Dial, case and movement signed.Diam. 33 mm. Thickness 12 mm.

Notes

The so-called ?claw lugs? were fashionable for almost two decades, from the beginning of the 1940s to the end of the 1950s. These lugs, which were featured on watches with various types of complications, were extremely surprising and effective.
