Notes

This watch was evidently made on special order by Spaulding & Co., Paris, and is a first class example of the work of a fine Parisian jeweller. The bold and very crisply chased decoration is a perfect foil for the unusual use of matte "eggshell" textured enamel. It captures the spirit and style of Paris at the turn of the twentieth century. According to the Vacheron & Constantin archives, the dial and movement of this watch were supplied in 1904.
