Vacheron & Constantin in Geneva, Charles Vacheron & Co, Successors, No. 129998, circa 1870. Very fine and rare, 18K gold hunting cased, keyless pocket chronometer.
C. Four body, massive, "bassine et filets", polished with reeded band, the cover engraved with an escutcheon. D. White enamel with Roman numerals, outer minutes ring and sunk subsidiary seconds. Blued-steel "flours de lys" hands. M. 20"', nickel plated, "fausses cotes" decoration, gold train of wheels, 16 jewels, pivoted detent escapement, cut bimetallic balance, blued-steel helical balance spring with terminal curves and regulator. Diam. 54 mm.
