Very fine and rare, historical, 18K yellow gold gentleman's wristwatch.

C. massive, polished, satined, dedicated back. D. champagne with applied gold indexes + auxiliary seconds dial. "Baton " gold hands. M. 12''' rhodium plated, "fausses cotes" decoration, 17 jewels, lever escapement, monometallic balance adjusted to temperatures, antishock system, self-compensating Breguet balance-spring, micrometer regulator. Dial, case and movement signed. In excellent condition. Diam. 33 mm.

Edgar Jean Faure French politician, born in Beziers in 1908. I-Ie entered politics as a radical-socialist and was Minister of Finance and Economic Affairs several times in the 1950 's before becoming Prime Minister in 1952, 1955 and 1956. He teas Minister of Agriculture in 1966, Education in 1968 and Social Affairs in 1969. President of the National Assembly from 1973 to 1978, then from 1979 a member of the European Parliament. He also published several detective novels ender the pseudonvm Edgar Sanday. IIe died in 1988.
