Notes

The name “Tour de l’Ile” refers to the place, in Geneva’s Saint Gervais quarter, where the workshops of Vacheron Constantin were located for approximately 200 years. Befitting their position as master watchmakers since 1755, Vacheron Constantin have created the most complicated wristwatch ever made in series of seven pieces.
Celebrating the Quarter Millennium of Vacheron Constantin in 2005, this masterpiece is the only one in this limited edition to have a black dial. Vacheron Constantin made this pièce unique for the “Antiquorum Quarter Millenium Vacheron Constantin” sale in 2005 and have guaranteed that no other example of this watch will bear a black dial, marking it as truly outstanding within this exclusive series of exceptional watches.
It comprises a total of 16 complications arranged over two dials. This ultra-complicated wristwatch is made up of 834 components and represents a tour de force in the world of haute horlogerie, with a total of over 10,000 hours going into the research and development of the movement.
Winner of the first prize for the "Aiguilles d'or" at the Grand Prix de l'Horlogerie in 2005, it is a great honor for Antiquorum to present this unique timepiece, a true symbol of watchmaking expertise, for the second time in auction.
